Martha (Marty) Sheets Roland, 73, of Perry went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 10, 2025, while at home with her family. Marty was born on June 10, 1952, in Musckogee, Okla., to Howard (Pete) and Hattie Mae Sheets. She moved to Ocala in 1970 and graduated from Forest High School that same year. She earned an Associates of Arts degree from Central Florida Community College. She worked for the Department of Corrections and retired after 30 years of service in 2004. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Reddick, Fla., and was the church pianist for many years. Marty was an avid Florida Gators fan and was a longtime season ticket holder for men’s basketball. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC). She was a lifelong owner and lover of miniature Dachshunds. Marty will be remembered for her love for her family and friends, her outgoing personality, contagious laugh and thoughtfulness. She is survived by: her son, Matt Roland (Beth Anne) and granddaughters, Lola, Libby and Leah; daughter, Lisa Roland Tuck (Mark); granddaughter, Nikki Tuck Russo (Dan); great-grandson, Cameron; and grandson, Chad Tuck; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother, Howard Sheets; and husband, James (Jim) Roland. Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Reddick. Graveside services will follow at Millwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Marty’s memory. Arrangements under the direction of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala.
