Jacklynn Nolan, 78, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Aug. 6, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late John and Mary Meehan, Jacklynn’s early journey took her from New York to Summit, N.J., and eventually to Sudbury, Mass., where she graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1966. She later spent 40 wonderful years building her life and community in Texas before making Florida her home for her final year. Throughout her life, Jacklynn brought energy, heart and dedication to everything she touched. She built a fulfilling career in real estate, but her true life’s passion was found in helping others – both human and fourlegged. Jacklynn was a constant source of support for anyone in need, always ready to lend a helping hand. Above all, she had a boundless love for animals. A dedicated volunteer at local animal shelters, Jacklynn was known for rescuing dogs and treating her canine companions like royalty – often serving as the ultimate “personal chef” for her beloved dogs. She cherished her dogs, her devoted companion, Ronnie, and “her Girls” more than life itself. And whenever a problem arose, she was always ready to call Royal, firmly believing there was nothing he couldn’t fix. Jacklynn is survived by: her companion of 18 years, Ronnie Russell Hogan; a son, Royal Lea, and wife, Jane; four daughters, Leisa Lea, Rhonda Moore and husband, Marty, Bonnie Croft and husband, Tracy, Nancy Holden and husband, Jimmy; two brothers, John Meehan and Kevin Meehan; a sister, Dariel Meehan; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Meehan, and a son, Tristan Lea. Funeral services for Jacklynn were held Sunday, Aug. 9, at 3 p.m. in the Burns Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Perry with Elder Gary Blanton officiating. Interment followed in Fellowship Baptist Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Friends may send condolences to the family at www. joepburnsfuneralhomes. com.
