Laura Miller, beloved wife, devoted mother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Aug. 8, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Lando, S.C., on Nov. 23, 1938, Laura was a beacon of light to all who knew her. She spent her life dedicating herself to her loved ones, her church and her passion for beautifying the world as a talented hairdresser. Over her 67 years of marriage to her dear husband, Dave, Laura cultivated a rich and loving home in Keaton Beach. Together, they shared moments filled with laughter, joy and the simple pleasures of life. Laura’s caring spirit extended beyond her family; she had an unwavering love for children and was a nurturing presence in their lives. She found great joy in the beauty of nature, especially from her home at Cedar Island, where she spent many evenings marveling at the breathtaking sunsets. Her passion for life was complemented by her deep commitment to her faith. She was an active member of Blue Creek Baptist Church for more than 40 years, and had recently joined New Home Baptist Church in Perry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dave, and her daughter, Debbie Seagrove. Laura is survived by: her son, David Miller; two grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Linda Conway. She also leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love that will continue to inspire those who knew her. The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate Laura’s remarkable life, on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. at New Home Baptist Church in Perry. As we bid farewell to Laura Miller, we celebrate the life of a woman who truly understood the beauty of both the world and the people in it. She will be greatly missed, but her love will live on in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blue Creek Baptist Church building fund.
