“I’m coming home.”
When Taylor County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Lundy said those three simple words Friday morning, it sparked a flurry of actions from the front door of the rehab center in Gainesville to the driveway of his front yard in Steinhatchee.
Hundreds of law enforcement officials, family, friends and community supporters lined the route to welcome this hometown hero. There was even a helicopter escorting the caravan.
