    Posted on May 9, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of John Larry Edwards, who left us on May 7, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in Perry, Larry lived a life full of adventure and passion. A proud forklift driver for P&G, Larry was known for his hard work and dedication. His true joys in life came from spending time outdoors. He loved hunting, f ishing and riding through the woods, always ready for the next adventure. He was an avid Florida State University Seminole fan and had a knack for storytelling that could only be rivaled by his generosity of spirit and willingness to help others. He is survived by his loving spouse, Frances Edwards, who will remember him fondly, along with countless friends and family who were touched by his kindness and enthusiasm for life. Larry was preceded in death by: his parents, John “Buck” Edwards and Vera Edwards; his brother, Ronnie Edwards; his sister, Janice Gunter; his stepson, Robbie Spradley; a nephew, Mike Gunter; and a brotherin-law, Allen Gunter. He is survived by: his wife of 42 years, Frances; stepdaughters, Katrina Russell, and her husband, Joey, and Kelly Carter, and her husband, Wayne; sistersin-law, Becky Edwards and Debbie Young; three nephews, Chris Gunter and his wife, Dina, Mitchell Edwards and his wife, Cristy, and Alex Edwards; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Card of Thanks Friends and family are invited to celebrate Larry’s life at his funeral services, which will take place on Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Perry. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service. Let’s gather to share our favorite memories, laugh and honor the incredible man Larry was. In true Larry fashion, we hope you’ll join us in the spirit of togetherness and joy as we celebrate a life well-lived. Rest in peace, Larry. You will be deeply missed.
