It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Leon Moore, who left us peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 66.
Robert was born on Sept. 24, 1958, to James Robert Moore Jr. and Barbara Kirby Moore, in Tampa.
He moved to Perry in the late 1980s, where he made his home and created lasting memories with family and friends.
Robert was a talented painter in the construction industry, and worked for many years in the lawn business with the McNutt family.
He was known for his hard work and dedication.
He may not have had formal education, but he had a wealth of knowledge and skills that spoke volumes about his character and determination.
Outside of work, Robert had a passion for life that shone through in his hobbies.
He loved hunting, fishing and finding the thrill in scratch-off lottery tickets.
His zest for adventure and the outdoors was matched only by his warm, welcoming spirit and his reputation for being the the life of the party.
Robert is survived by: his beloved sisters, Debbie Hill and Roberta Lott; and his brother, James Moore and wife, Cheryl, all of Perry; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will all cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother-in-law, Ronald Hill; two nephews, Daniel Moore and Ronald Lott Jr.; and a niece, Amanda Williams.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14, at 2 p.m. At Westside Baptist Church with Brother Jeremy Gray officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
