Richard “Daryl” Mixon, 81, of Foley passed away peacefully on Sept. 25, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Claude Mixon; brothers, Carol, Earl and Chuck; and his grandson, Tyler. He is survived by : his sister, Anne Wright; his children, Clay Mixon, Holly Lucus and Karla Mixon; grandchildren including Taylor Mixon and Easton Mixon; and great-grandchildren, Eli and Alivia Tyler. Daryl dedicated much of his professional life as a regional manager for Florida Gas Transmission. Beyond his career, he was deeply devoted to his community; often wiring churches, leading worship services, and lending his hands and heart to help others. A gifted guitarist and vocalist, he shared his love of music both professionally and for the sheer joy it brought him and those around him. His faith was the cornerstone of his life. Guided by a deep love for God’s Word, Daryl lived in service to others, touching countless lives through his generosity, kindness and unwavering belief. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. at Joe Burns Funeral Home.
