    Sylvia Ellie Lou Leggett

    It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sylvia Ellie Lou Leggett, who left us peacefully on Oct. 2, 2025, at the age of 100. Born on Jan. 25, 1925, in Springdale, Sylvia lived a long and fulfilling life dedicated to her family and community. She was a proud homemaker, known for opening her heart and home to those around her. A devoted member of the Center Street Church of God, she spent many joyful hours sewing, cooking and sharing delicious meals with neighborhood children. Her love for babysitting friends and family’s little ones, along with her passion for fishing, created countless memories that will be cherished by all who knew her. Sylvia was preceded in death by: her husband, C. D. Leggett; her parents, John and Ella Small Cox; five children, Carl, Virgina, Ronald, Larry and Tommy Leggett. She is survived by her loving family, including: her son, Billy Leggett; daughter, Patricia Graddy; son, Dwayne Leggett, and wife, Brenda; 15 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; 16 greatgreat-grandchildren; and three great-great-greatgrandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A public visitation was held at Burns Funeral Home of Perry on Monday Oct. 6, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. As we honor Sylvia’s remarkable life, we invite all who loved her to join us in remembering the loving and generous woman she was. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all she touched.
